Finally got around to putting the new 9.25 in the observatory. Installed Bob’s Knobs and proceeded with collimation of the scope. The factory focus adjust knob hasĀ a stiff spot in it. Unlike my 8″ SCT this one is not very smooth at all. Called Orion and they said it shouldn’t be like that and to send it back. So, I guess it will be another month or more before I will be able to start taking images again. Hopefully that will give me time to get well aquainted with the used ST-4 autoguider that I picked up. It has been awhile since I’ve posted on here, or taken any photos, but hopefully that will change once I receive my scope back.

Taken February 26th, 2010 using 6″ imaging reflector and Canon 450D.
I was so eager to get something imaged that I went out during last nights full moon, in city lights, with no light pollution filter. Image was processed with 30 dark frames and (110) 60 second sub exposures. Someone with a lot more photoshop experience could probably make it look a lot better, but I was pleased based on the conditions and my experience level.
